wrote Frederick
Sommer, about Fred's years in Brasil, where he moved with his
family when he was seven. He left there in 1930 to recover from tuberculosis.
I worked with Luiz on the book: helping him with his often all too imaginative English--he wrote it in his native Portuguese. I checked facts with Fred. As a gift, in honor of Fred's, I designed, printed, and bound several copies in 1999. The last copy was stolen from a celebration in honor of Fred's life shortly after his death.
